We read the public registers, about twice a month.

Staggered across the fortnight rather than all at once, and never in bulk. You can also ask for a check yourself, once a day per register.

Compare

Every reading is kept and compared with the last.

Status, category, board, qualifications, and the date your registration period ends. If nothing moved, nothing happens — which is the usual answer, and you can still see that we looked.

What we watch.

Read from the registers themselves. Nothing here is self-reported, and nothing is inferred.

Registration statusHPCSA
Active, suspended, erased or expired. A change here is the loudest thing Lens can tell you.
Practice number statusPCNS
Active or not, plus whether a dispensing licence is on record.
Category and boardHPCSA
Your practice type, speciality and professional board, as the register states them.
QualificationsHPCSA
Added qualifications appear in your feed. They are news, not an alarm.
Registration periodHPCSA
Every practitioner on the register runs to 31 March. Lens counts down to it and reminds you before it closes.

And what it does not.

  • We never write to a regulator, and never act on your behalf.
  • We never submit, renew or pay anything for you.
  • We never sell or share what we read.
  • We never show a fact without saying when we last saw it.

Lens is read-only against public registers, monitoring your own record on your own instruction. Your data stays in South Africa, you choose separately what each piece of it is used for, and deleting your account erases everything within 72 hours.

Lens is not open yet.
